Monaco is a modern city with very strong identities, juxtaposed contrasts, direct transitions, an extreme concentration.
The geographical and topographical situation between mountains and the sea, face to face with the constraints of a restricted space, has engendered exceptional results, arrived at with modern architecture, audacious art works, unique and astonishing gardens.
La Condamine is the port district, Monaco's geographical centre, and also the venue for the Formula One Grand Prix car race.
The evolution of the district has altered its authenticity and its character. The occupation of public space by a superabundant street furniture, by a superadded, banal vegetation, produces a suffocating, cluttered effect which limits accessibillity and attractiveness and masks the architecture and the perspective views towards the Port and the sea at the end of the streets.
Our proposals for revitalisaing the area aim :
To rediscover the perspective views, the visual and physical transparencies towards the port.
To render public space more accessible, more spacious : to free up the ground space, to reduce the amount of street furniture and isolated plantings, to simplify, aerate, to open things up.
To requalify the contemporary architecture : to transform, renew, construct, densify.
To cultivate the exceptional by radically affirming identities.

Requalifier l'architecture contemporaine : transformer, renouveler, construire, densifier.
